GITKA Kriston

since 2012

I’m Gitka Kriston. Designer. My name is also my trademark. I founded the brand in 2012 which is a self-identical, sophisticated, unique entity. It dresses tradition in a new robe, giving the wearer a sense of comfort and a special look in a rushing world.

Progressive and traditionalist

What's my story?

Since I was a little girl, folk art, Hungarian motifs and matyo embroidery have been a part of my life.

What does the brand represent?

I consider our heritage of Hungarian embroidery types and motifs to be of great value which we must preserve and nurture. I would like to show people that an embroidery, an embroidered dress or even an accessory is really special and thanks to that it also endows the wearer with special marks.

The process of creation is what really motivates you. To create something unusual that has a hint of the past in it, I just love it. To create something that people remember and they are happy to wear and love.

I make spectacular, eye-catching, yet unique, handmade embroidered women’s dresses that can be incorporated into everyday wear where the decorative embroidery is also self-designed. I consider it important to work out the small details thoroughly. I strive for uniqueness, but also for the preservation of traditions. This duality makes the Kriston Gitka collections unrepeatable. My clothes and accessories individually and as a whole represent the same sophistication and sophisticated uniqueness.

FACES collection

At the end of 2020 with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture I created my “FACES” collection

Other works

I make spectacular, eye-catching, yet unique, handmade embroidered women’s dresses that can be incorporated into everyday wear where the decorative embroidery is also self-designed.

What is my mission?

I want to make folk art a part of our everyday lives. I consider it important to preserve the traditional intellectual values of Hungarian folk art and to reinterpret them while maintaining quality.

With love:
